The 12 Zodiac Signs
The zodiac divides the ecliptic into twelve 30° segments. Each sign combines an element (fire, earth, air, water) with a modality (cardinal, fixed, mutable), and that pairing is what actually distinguishes one sign from another. Dates below are tropical — the system used in Western astrology.
